Well...just another reason NOT to drink Pepsi!

-

Check out this link above. It's horrific. Pretty soon, you may be drinking cells from aborted children in your Pepsi. I think we're getting pretty close to the end times, no?

Tis' the Season...

...for wild violets! It seems spring has come upon us here in the South, and we had such a mild winter that I doubt we will have any sudden cold spurts. Now, all the trees are releasing new foliage and everything's greening up. I love it. Simply love it. Was starting to get kind of tired of the lack of verde in the landscape. It's so nice that it finally returned.

So. ANYWAYS. Took some pictures a week or two ago of the wild violets which are now in abundance around our place. Thought I might share them with you.

Did you know that wild violets and their leaves are edible? They are! I have read a bit about them and what to do with their foliage. Just make sure you don't mistake wild violets with African violets. There is a big difference. You can't eat the latter. So don't get the two confused.

But anyhoo, with the wild violets, it's true, (at least for the ones that I tasted) the flavor isn't anything exciting. You can make a salad out of the violet leaves, and also use the greens for violet tea. I know you can eat the flower as well, but not positive on the specifics of how to eat it. I am supposing one would treat it like its leaves. I have yet to try the tea, but plan to do so when I can actually remember to go collect the leaves and brew them.

Anyway, just thought I would share a little tid-bit with you. And the photos too. :) I usually don't blog because I don't have the time. So don't really know how this is going to work out. I have always had a blog and website, but for the last year or two just haven't been keeping up with them. I am hoping to migrate Oh, Suscita Vita over here and make this blog my main website location. So please be patient, I am still working on site design, layouts, etc. Still working on it.
